It should be.It is the second most common language in the U.S. Oh please, Cat Fitzy(below) I know plenty of americans that butcher the english language.Learning a second language would be an asset.

i think that it is because we have alot of spanish people that live here now so we need to know what they are saying to use when they come here but they also need to be able to speak english if the come over here so it should go both ways

if you live along the US Mexican boarder it helps.Regardless of where you live you can communicate with more people if you are bilingual.In the work place you have a greater chance of getting hired if you speak another language
