How do I get a real job in this (DC) area.?

Can't afford to intern (that is big around here) want a complete career change. Did the volunteer thing to no avail and can't afford to go back to school. I've worked just about every nettworking group, website, job board and contact I have. My job now really sucks political upheaval, pending lawsuits, inhumane hours, no money and no chance for advancement. Help!
