When applying for a job that wants a sample of my writing, what kind of topic should I write for the sample?

I am applying for a research assistant job, which demands excellent writing skills. The job wants a 1 page writing sample (to determine my writing skills) along with my resume and cover letter. What is the best topic to write on for my writing sample?

Send something politically correct, business-related, and technical. Avoid sending anything that has errors in it as this will take you out of the running. If you ahve anything published, that's always a good choice. And really, if you're not sure about it, get a professional to look over it. I use More

you could write about the history of the company,and /or about any community/charity work they are involved in. GOOD LUCK!

A simulated grant proposal would probably be best if this is an academic position. If it's industrial, write about a technical project you've been involved with.
