How can I convince my parents that I want to be a fashion designer?
They only worry since they don't think that its a very good job and want me to become a lawyer or doctor instead. I know that many designers don't get paid that much and go through a lot but I really love designing.I really want to be a designer since I've been sewing since a young age and its been a big dream of mine. I know that its really hard to get to be a big known fashion designer but even if I get as close as being able to own a little botique I'd be happy. How can I convince them that this is something that i'd be happy with?

A good way to convince them is to go to college and start studying the fashion designing, that may convince them. Sides, they have no right to tell you what you wanna be.

Have a good arguement. Show them that it isn't just a whim and you haven't made a big mistake. Do some research on design courses, apprenticeships and work experience. Show them that it is something you wish to do and tell them how you will fund your ambition i.e. scholarships, part-time job etc. Make sure you do not... More

My parents always wanted me to become a lawyer or doctor too. But i've always had a passion for acting and singing. They know that you can make a lot of money in acting but only if you're really succesfull. So they worry that if i become an actress but not succesfull enough, i might not make a lot of money. But i've... More
