How hard is it to find a job for a new college graduate in engineering?

I mean I am not in college, but I have to choose my major that's why. I am a little a worred about engineering cause i see my uncle, who has been a chemical engineer for about 20 years, just couldn't keep a job for more than 6 months? So can anyone please help me. feel free to mention any better major you can think of. Thank you.

its not that much hard to find the jobs,u just do one thingh tat u should get good marks in engg.atleast 75%.then come outside face one or two intterviews surely u will get job,but wat i suggest is tat its better to do masters ,only engg. means u get less jobs.... o.k u better m-tech,mba etc. o.k
