I need the name of a particular career if there is such a name.?

Ok, I have this friend who works for Nokia and he's a programmer that also gets to take Nokia, products home such as PDA's, and wireless phones to test. I would love to just do the testing part of this job. I love gadgets and playing or learning how a phone or pda devices work. Is there a name or a particular field of study called?
