Anyone know about the airplane industry?

Well, I know this question is a doozy, so you don't have to elaborate, if you have a link, that will do. I am interested in pursuing a career in the airliner industry. What I wanted to know is, is any military/air-force service required to become a pilot or co-pilot, or flight attendant, and what is the average pay for a pilot, co-pilot, and flight attendant? Thank you so much, any answers are greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for the descriptive answers, sorry, but I would now like to know, how can you build flying hours, without flying solo in a civillian aircraft? Can you build hours at the flight schools? And, how many flight hours are "acceptable" for a major airline?

You do not need any military service to be a pilot or co-pilot and certainly not to be a flight attendant. You need a certain number of flying hours though to be a pilot or co-pilot, it's more difficult but you can get that with civilian flying. To be a flight attendant you have to go through a program and before... More

Check out Embry-Riddle, it's a college for airline pilots in Daytona. Pilots usually make around 120k a year. The best way to go about it is to go to Embry-Riddle, then start work as a second in command for an air freight company to build hours, ER can help with job placement. After you've built enough flight hours to... More
