What are some exercises I can do to train people to be more sensitive to people with disabilities?

I've been assigned to do this training, and my thought is to try to get the people to empathize with the people who have mental and physical disabilities. Anyone know any good excersizes i can do with people to have them "walk a mile" in the shoes of someone with disabilities? Thanks

Role reversal with short skits. Study some videos from the Americans with Disabilities web site, and have your class to act it out. Use Props such as a wheel chair, cane, or play the role of someone who is speech impaired. I can go on and on, but you've got work to do. Hope I helped. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sensory overload for autism, blindfold for blindness, earplugs for deafness, etc. Here's a website. It's meant for kids but it may give you some ideas. And here's another one. Hope I helped!

Keep asking questions, like if you wear glasses, if you cannot drive a stick shift, if you cannot speak French, etc., until... More
