Can anyone tell me about being a CNC machinist?
I was thinking about entering a program for CNC(computer numerical control) training, is it a good Job what about the pay, is it an in demand skill?

If that is the kind of thing you enjoy doing, I would say go for it. It is an in-demand job, and pay depends of experience and training I'm sure. But they need younger CAD/CAM/CNC workers to understand some of hte newer copmuter technology that the older generation can't always understand.

machinests used to go through an apprenticeship, then journeyman then to machinest (tool maker). the jobs do pay good but the time needed to train for it can be long. the demand for those jobs is declining because computers are taking control in mass production. for custom work it is very profitable
