What do you think can be done to fix the current public education system in america?

Just rant if you want. I'm more or less shooting for a think tank effect here. Everyones input helps, even more so if you have kids in the public education system or are involved in the public education system yourself. Thank you. Oh yes, if anyone knows anything about the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, please do tell.

The people who make decision regarding education should either BE or consult actual educators. I've had enough of politicians making policy, especially if their own children go to private schools! 1) End No Child Left Behind. 2) Implement School Choice - parents choose which local schools to send their kids. 3) Fire incompetent teachers. 4) Increase funding for student aid grants and loans.

First of all, there is nothing we can do single-handedly. We (the adults) are not the main reason why america has such a bad school system. The students are the main cause of such a downfall in the system. We need to find a way to motivate them, becuz not many students come from the education, but instead to meet up... More

Your question implies there is something wrong with the system. Teachers need something to work with. We send them crack babies, lazy no work ethic bums. spoiled brats and kids on tons of meds to keep them from acting like kids then expect the system to work miracles.

Study other countries teaching method's and LISTEN TO TEACHERS MORE. Also, give kids 1 month off per year.
