Text Size 29 i****************s arrested in Bald Head Island Aug 10, 2006 10:46 AM MST 29 i****************s arrested in Bald Head Island News more>> TSA easing flight security restrictions Heightened security hits ILM Terror alert effects minimal on local travel Wilmington woman missing 29 i****************s arrested in Bald Head Island Scholarship created for teen killed in car wreck Greenspace, traffic bond money going to work Severe thunderstorms leave flooding, downed power lines Store clerk accused of stealing nearly 1,100 lottery tickets Wounded Warrior Ointment BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- Federal agents went into one of the most exclusive communities in the area and arrested more than two dozen i****************s. Those immigrants, and some of the people who hired them, are facing possible criminal charges. Bald Head Island stands apart from most of our area, only accessible by boat. But like most local communities it's seeing rapid growth, and construction on the island is a big business. Tuesday the Coast Guard and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents busted 29 i****************s working on some of multi-million dollars homes. A spokesperson said the worksite enforcement operation was intended to target illegal workers and the employers who hire them. Contractors who work on the island say the loads of workers coming onto the island Wednesday was much lower than before, and they say it's because of the people who were arrested Tuesday. During off-camera interviews contractors on the island say before the bust hundreds of workers would come across on the ferry or sometimes in privately owned boats. One contractor who saw the bust says the Coast Guard checked boats. They say some employers were fined in the thousands and their boats taken because of their involvement. No law enforcement officials would elaborate on those claims, only that people are facing charges and some deportation. In late July the Coast Guard stopped two boats full of i****************s in Southport, also without documentation. But sources say they let the immigrants go when federal agents would not assist in the case. DEPORT!! DEPORT!! DEPORT!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes Sashie,i agree but that was a DIFFERENT instance!!!! AND, they are going after the EMPLOYERS of illegals!!!!YEAH!!! SOme of you are MISSING an important part!!!! The FEDERAL agents DID arrest these illegals,AND fined the employers THOUSANDS of dollars!!! The last paragraph is about a whole DIFFERNT incident!!

good article. it's about time they started rounding up the illegals. Now maybe some american craftsmen can get jobs working on those million dollar homes. also glad to see the business owners getting fined. wish they would start doing raids like this in florida.

A drop in the ocean, but a start ... what worries me is this sentence though: But sources say they let the immigrants go when federal agents would not assist in the case. What the hell are the federal agents doing? Anything? Nothing?

Its always attack the immigrants, keep them out. Well God made land, and he made humans and gave the land to the humans. Who are you (and anyone else who answered like you do) to say to them that they cannot have this part of God's gift to them because they weren't born between two arbitrary lines. It may be legally... My favorite part was when they said that they were also cracking down on the people who employ them. That was a suggestion given by the pro-illegals so again, I would like to send out a thank you to all of the pro-illegal for insisting that state, federal and local authorities crack down on those "Americans" who employ...
