Get your degree in english or journalism. I would think you could go to beauty school on the side, but I think the most important thing would be keeping up with the trends- attend the trade shows and read the industry magazines. But better yet, research what career steps major beauty editors took to get to where they are now.

You would be probably have to major in journalism or communications and then go to beauty school. I went to college and beauty school at the same time.

As far as a beauty editor, you would want to go to school for writing, then narrow down your field to beauty editor, if you go to beauty school, what you will become is a beautician, I know I am one!

No beauty school is a seperate form of education, at least where I'm from. You could get a comotology liscnce or degree (whichever one it is) at any beauty school.

There are actually colleges that have degrees in Cosmetology that are fully accredited. (In other words, the credits transfer to other regionally accredited colleges.) If possible, go to a college and not a beauty school. Beauty schools are not accredited and are sometimes well-recognized, but still go out of business for one reason or another. When that happens, you still have your licensure registered with the state, but it doesn't help your resume any.

There is a website called "College Source Online" that lists the college catalogs of every accredited college and university in the U.S. Go to the website, register, and use their free trial membership to find the best college suited to you needs. It allows you to search by a number of different criteria. You can search by school name, by how many students they have, by how much the school costs, you name it.

Good question, by the way. A lot of people assume that because they are interested in a trade, they automatically have to go to a tradeschool without ever thinking about getting college credit for learning the same material.

Good luck!

I'm 13 and I want to be able to do a nice age appropriate makeup job. And my eyes are green so I don't know what color to use.

For my friend's birthday, I got her a book that teaches all about makeup- tools, proper application, products, colors, different looks, etc. She's into girly things, so I figured it would be a nice gift. On second thought though, do you think she would get offended by it and take it as if i'm implying she does a horrible makeup job on herself? I don't want her to think that. I just thought it was a good book and I even bought myself a copy.
