How do you become a Mary Kay consultant?

And if you are one, how much do you make on average per month? How much of your own money have you put in? Pros? Cons? Basically, I'm just trying to look at potential part-time jobs I can do as a full-time mom. I HAVE checked their website, but they don't touch on the subject directly. At least, nothing that I found was very direct.

The investment required to start in Mary Kay can be significant since you are required to stock your own items. As for starting, do you know anyone who is a consultant? That's the easiest way, just ask them and they can sign you up... More

Honey, I used to sell Mary Kay, but they weren't good enough for me so I quit.

They will never tell you this, but 95% of the Mary Kay consultants do not make more than $2000 a year. Heck of alot of work, impinging on friends, holding parties for that - you can probably do that in a series of garage sales and ebay with alot less headache.

Contact a Mary Kaye representative in the phone book. Have her come out to your house and discuss it with you. A lot of how much money you make can really depend not only on yourself, but on your sponsor as well. You will need a sponsor who is dedicated to helping you meet your growth potential... More

I would say that Pampered Chef or Party Lite is a better option than Mary Kay.

Mary Kay is one of the companies I used to be involved in. I was the top rep in my home town and still wasn't finding the pay was enough considering all the work and rah rah meetings I had to go to. Mary Kay had their time back in the early 80's, that's when the large incomes were earned, and now it is very difficult... More

Listen to the people who have stated that the money isn't really that great. Unless you have a very highly successful Director, who is motivated to help her team sell, you won't make much. If you do not meet new people on a WEEKLY basis, and are timid about approaching people you don't know, don't do it, because you'll... More

I use to sell Mary Kay a while back and found that if you believe in the products and know alot of people who want to purchase the products you will do well but it is true, you do need to purchase inventory in order to make money. I just started with another cosmetics company called Color Me Beautiful. They sell Color... More
