Where can I get information about workmans' compensation for job related injuries?

I was injured on my last job, and I would like to know if I qualify for workmans comp. insurance payments while I am out of work. I feel that my injury was incurred on the job, and I feel that I should receive some sort of payment for the weeks I have been out of work.

Your state dept of labor and industries. Also they will tell you over the phone if you qualify or not.

Nothing can ever be pre-approved with workers comp. So go to the doctor, tell them you think it's work related, contact your boss to file the claim. The longer it's been, the less likely you'll be able to collect. Especially if you haven't even seen the doctor yet.

Most states have a Workers Compensation Commission or Board. Check there first, but be aware that if you did not report your injury to your employer when it happened, you will have a harder time of it. Some states have very stringent guidelines for reporting.
