What do you think this country would be like now if we never created laws on immigration?

Some of pro-illegals seem to think that anyone who wants to come here should be able to without any restrictions. The only requirement is that they "want a better life". America apparently has an unlimited supply of resources that everyone in the world is entitled to.

If we never had any restrictions, we would have had to fix our free-ride system a long time ago. Perhaps it would be a better place now because then, not even natural-born citizens would have this sense of entitlement to everyone else's wallets. .

We would be divided, speaking two languages, and people would be mad. Oh, that is what is happening now!

Absolutely no different than it is now. Do you have any idea how many immigrants are illegal vs. legal? Noone does, even with the laws; this is the point. :)

do you mean The United States of America? don't forget that America is a continent, and I don't think that they want to let everyone in, why don't you read a little and then ask another question?

It would be chaos. This is not the old west days and order has to exist. There has to be respect for law for it is law that defines the country

I like this question. When the Irish came over there were people in this country that called them monkeys and printed cartoons about them (seems foolish to whites, huh?). Now, a few hundred years later the Hispanic population is in the cross-hairs. Politicians are using it as ammunition to stay in office.

I'm sure that white people wanted their slaves to stay at their service. Was that their right to keep them as slaves as long as they pay for them? it is the same thing everyone wants a better life and there will always be someone bigger and stronger then them that will try to stop them from doing so. Try to understand... More

It would be a third world cesspool like Mexico. We, the people, don't want this. You are right. I am so sick of that lame cliche' and this one as well: "...but they work so hard." Who cares? Why are they exempt from obeying the laws?
