I am English major and want to know what kinds of career can I have with it, anyone done this or any ideas?

I want to have a career where I can make enough money to live comfortably. I have taken classes and in the middle of the term I get bored and I can't seem to think myself doing these for the rest of my life. I was thinking about going into educational teaching.

I have friends who have degrees in English and do not have "successful" jobs. The degree does not foster much opportunity. Teaching would be a good option, but would require a different course of study.

You can go into journalism or you can even take a few more classes to get certified in education and become a teacher- it is a great career!

Let's see. Careers in English, hmm? Writer Teacher Teacher who writes Editor (you'd probably suck at that since you can't make up your own mind) Janitor. Statistically you have a better shot at that last one.

English Major? Try the British army and don't bother any other country. No more colonies for the high and mighty and in Britain you cannot compete with the cheap migrant labour either!
