How do freelance court reporters get work?

I was wondering how would a freelance court reporter get work? aside from having clients who know and hire directly, do most people get work from agencies? What kind of markup do agencies take? Over all, What percentage of work is generally done thru agency and what percentage is done through direct clients? is there a web site that contains a directory of all court reporters and their contact information? thank you! If you have experience working with agency, please let me know.
