with increased global competition commodity prices are decreasing. poor countries only have commodities to export therefore they are getting lower prices.

Think of a pryamid. Rich at the top, middle class in the middle and the poor at the bottom. The rich supress the other classes to stay on top. Greed keeps them on top and when God asks them why? well, heaven probably won't be to full, now hell will be wall to wall people.
