Are most of the chemical engineers working in the lab?
I'm going to take chemical engineering but i'm not really clear about the future career. Are most of the chemical engineers working in the lab? does chemical engineer need to test the chemicals or prepare a solution? what's the difference between chemist and chemical engineer? between, are there many lab session for this course? ur reply will be appreciated..

It depends on what you want to do. I am a chemical engineer, and I work entirely in a R&D lab at a university. Many of my colleagues work in chemical plants, though. The plant jobs consist mainly of monitoring plant equipment, supervising the operators, troubleshooting problem processes, etc... More

Chemistry technicians prepare solutions with chemicals. Chemists develop new chemicals. Chemical engineers figure out how to produce the chemicals in a large scale, in a controlled and safe manner... More

I would have to disagree with the person above me. Chemical Engineering is BY FAR the hardest major offered at only about 200 universities nation wide.
