Are you Journalist in London? Fancy meeting me for lunch to give me a bit of career advice?

I am a 25 year old male who lives in London. I have a humanities degree and have been working for the last three years as a recruitment consultant to pay my massive student fees. However, after three years, enough is enough, and i've decided i want to follow my passion and the one thing I've always been best at; writing. I really want to break into journalism. I'm aware of qualifications such as those accredited by the nctj. However, what I'm lacking is some context. Without sitting down over a coffee and actually talking to some real-life journalists, I'm just going to be taking shots in the dark. I want to make sure I take the right and most respected course. Or do i even need to train? Are there any easy low-level paid routes in? I'd be prepared to drop from £30K to £16K for a foot on the ladder. My writing and dtp skills are excellent, and I have a good eye for prose. Ideally I'm looking for arts/media/theatre magazine work, or work within a london-based local newspaper.
