Do I have a chance at getting hired at a prestigious management consulting firm?
I spent four years in the military after high school and then went to college at a local state school. It's not that I couldn't handle a top-tier private university, but since tuition is free to veterans in my state, I just couldn't justify spending $100,000+ on school... plus I still wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with my life. I am now poised to graduate in May with a degree in economics and a minor in management. I have a 3.9 overall GPA and am a member of two national honor societies. I've decided that I'd really like to get into management consulting when I graduate, but I've found that most of the major players in the industry are recruiting out of Wharton, Harvard, Tuck, etc. Is trying to find a good job in consulting a fool’s errand for me because of my academic pedigree or do I have a shot?

give it a shot....dont worry about the outcome. you can either enter is straight out of college or can focus on some industry and later get in as lateral. though institute pedigree is helpful...you can offset that by hvaing quality experience.
