How do you define great customer service?

my idea of great customer service : when I go in to a store I am greeted a "hello", I am asked if I need help finding anything one time and if I say, 'no' then they don't ask again (unless I look REALLY lost!), It does not take long to wait in line to try things on if at a clothing store, I am run up @ the cash... Be direct without being pushy. Know what you're trying to sell/promote well enough to answer reasonable questions. Don't be flippant. Don't inject personal opinion. Smile and respond courteously and let me know your company will stand behind the product. Make me feel like I'm a valued customer.

customer service has been the downfall of the USA. Its because noone seems to see the need to actually do what they tell the customer they are going to do.
