Can you think that there is life after death, but be unsure that there is a God? Please only serious answers.?
Maybe I am having just a bad few weeks, months, years, I don't know. But more and more I have to wonder if there is such a love rearing God. Why is there so much pain in this world. I by far do not have a bad life, as some others do, but at times after seeing so many friends pass away, all before they turned 24, my Grandfather who meant the world to me, and just all the hell that others do. People hurting children, sufering, non stop. My other Grandpa is now on hospice. They are doing "Gods" job, right? But he is in so much pain, and it seems to never end. Why keep him here? Some times I feel that we are all just puppets on a string and God is tugging at them and laughing. I use to have so much faith, but as you grow up and really see all of THIS, how can you believe? Please I really don't want to be lectured, just thoughts and maybe some advice. Thanks.

This is not our final home, and it is supposed to be hard sometimes. It does not mean God is not in control, but he is still sovereign. This life hurts badly sometimes, and the death we see, was brought on by sin, not God's original plan for us, not the best one. I am so sorry to hear about your other grandpa. That... More

Of course. You can think whatever you want. EDIT: Who is the thought fascist that gave a thumbs down to the idea that a person can think whatever they want?

If you think that there is life after death, but are unsure there is a God, then you're thinking it, and by logical deduction, yes, you can.

God is NOT a loving conscious being somewhere. God is only the process of life and death. Its the proving that there is an afterlife is the perplexing part

Yes, you can believe in an afterlife without believing in God. It would just make you more spiritual than religious.

There are many religions that believe in some form of life after death without believing in God. The point, however, is that believing in God doesn't give you a free pass in life from all of the pain. Life was perfect until humans decided to exercise their free will so the world is what we have caused it to be... More

as to the original question; sure, there are plenty of other religions that deal with the afterlife (in fact all religions speculate on the afterlife) some have another god, many gods, or even no gods, although no popular religions today have many gods aside from some form of wicca. Buddhism doesn't have a god at all... More

First of all, let me say that I am sorry that you are hurting. Secondly, I am still figuring out exactly what it is that I believe in. With that said, I tend to look at it this way: if life was great all the time, and there was no pain or no suffering- just smiles and laughter at every turn, then would we need God... More
