new army wife?

im new at the hole army thing, got married june 3rd, 06. this is my first time i had to move, how do i meet new friends. i know i posted this already, but i diddnt even think about adding all this, i dont live on base its like 30 min drive to get there. im in kentucky the base is big id get lost trying to find my way around, my husband cant show me around because with my job we dont have the same days off and when we are togather its to late to show me around. and since im far from the base not very many ppl live close to me (that are in the army) and i REALLY need to know how to meet ppl so when he gets deployed (not any time soon) i accually know ppl, cause it would sux and drive me CrAzY to just go to work and come home. and i i wanna know how to meet ppl (not the ones i work with) thanks for ANY help :-)

Ok, there are several things you can do to get involved and meet people within the Army community. First of all, there is the interent. Look through various online groups; there are many relating to military spouses all over the world, with each base usually having it's own club... More

My ex had the same problem and she met people by getting involved in hobbies. She took up horseback riding and theatre and met lots of people...she's currently married to one of them. (sigh)

You can meet people at your job and in your neighborhood. Also if you go to the PX you can meet people there.

Look inside yourself and discover what your interests are. Once they are identified, get out there and start joining groups that share those interests. (both online and in the real world) You aren't alone and aren't the first tho experience this, we live in Kentucky also, drop us a line.
