How to I transfer data from my laptop to my desktop pc?

I just need to transfer all my files on my laptop to my desktop pc to back it up. Is there any cord I can use to connect the two and send a folder from my laptop hard drive to my pc hard drive?

Get a Network cable with ethernet jack on the both the ends and make both computer as P2P connection then transfer and u can transfer the documents to the Desktop PC since i had done this job before many times and it work perfectly

You can use a serial cable, or connect it to a network with ur desktop.

The easiest and fastest way to move files between machines is to use a USB memory stick. The things are fairly cheap and a lot faster than using cables.

If they are both fairtly new you should be able to network them by just using a twisted pair cable (it looks loke a modem phone hookup but a little bit wider). Just take you notebood to the store and ask them if they have the correct cable for this network type (they will) should be under $20
