what is the difference between counseling and clinical psychology?

i am considering becomeing a counseling psychologist but i havent heard much about them (i have really only heard about the clinical psychologists) and i dont what they do, how much they earn, and the job potential in terms of where you can go and what you can do if you have a Ph.d. in counseling psychology and are licensed as a counseling psychologist. could you please help me out by providing some info on becoming a counseling psychologist and the careers and salaries you can get with a Ph.d. in counseling psychology?

There are really more similarities between the two than differences. They typically get the same jobs and nearly the same salary. Clinical programs are more prevalent in the US but are a lot more competitive. The article below can describe it better... More

From a practical stand-point, the counselor helps people adjust their states of mind in conjunction with their habits and attitudes on daily living. A clinical psychologist is more like a scientist who would spend years analyzing the behavior of his/her subject.
