I am going back to college for an education degree-what is the best degree to get in Michigan?

I have a BA in Business but want to do something in education. Michigan is a tough state to get a teaching job in right now, but things may be different in 2 or so years when I am done with my degree. I am open to special ed, counseling, etc. Can anyone recommend a direction?

special ed---get a bssped (bachelor's of science in special ed) or just a master's in it since you already have a bachelor's special ed teachers are more far and few---and many of them get burnt out quicker than regualr ed teachers---thus, making more available jobs to you

Special ed will definitely give you an advantage over the many other teachers who do not have it.

Science, but not life science. Chemistry or physics degrees are in demand. Special ed is always in demand due to the burnout rate.

Speical ed is usually the easiest area to get a teaching position because the burn out rate in that field are the highest. However, what I would suggest you do is get dual certification with something you like to do with a special education certification. Good Luck!!!
