In April, America opens her border to the south to Mexican shipping companies. Does this trouble anyone?

America's trucking industry is about to be undercut by Mexican drivers that accept wages less than 40% of what American drivers are getting. This open border is going to contribute to a higher accident rate, increased insurance rates, and will cause American shipping companies to fold because they can not compete with Mexican prices. American truckers are about to be replaced with inexperienced drivers, drivers who do not know or respect DOT laws, and unsafe vehicles that have not and will not have to pass American inspections. My husband has been an OTR semi driver for close to 20 years now and he is not sure what his next job will be when American shipping firms hire Mexicans in order to compete in the market. Why should Mexicans be allowed to hurt our economy in such a manner?
