How do get a job in law enforcement with no experience?

I am in school to get a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. I want to get a job somewhere in law enforcement to at least get my foot in the door once I am ready to become a police officer. They all want experience,... how do you get the experience in the first place??

Jenn, you're getting some inadequate advice here, so let me try to set the record straight. If you want to be a police officer, there are several avenues open to you, depending upon which kind of police officer you want to be. If you want to be a municipal police officer, one who works in and for a city, then your... More

You won't have a problem getting into law enforcement even without the experience. As long as you have a clean record and you are drug free, you should be fine. But if you continue to apply, sometimes a PD will actually sponsor you and pay for your training. So I'd look up the academy first... More

Intern! Most police departments always love free help. Find a department that you would like to work for and see if you can do an internship or even just volunteer. You might also ask what their policy is regarding "ride alongs", and you may be able to ride a whole shift or a least a couple hours with an officer... More

Jenn you are getting some pretty good advice but most people are focusing their answers on becoming a certified peace officer. If you're looking for experience and want to make sure the job is right for you, you might want to consider becoming a corrections officers. The skills you learn here will prove to be... More

Go steal a car then you'll have all the experience you'll need. Why do you want to become a legal criminal?
