Office+ Business Admin Plum Press 1998 How do employer select the right person for their business? The interview process can be a tremendous help if employee use it effectively. They must completed all of the other steps in the hiring process in order to get the most out of the interview process. Interviewing candidates for a position within company is one of the final steps in the hiring process. Before employee get to this step, want to make sure that they've completed all of the preceding steps since each of these steps will have a direct impact on how effective the interview process will be. Below is a list of the steps involved in the hiring process. After they completed the interviewing process, there are still two additional key steps that have to complete. In order to achieve the best hiring results possible. Basics requirements for the job, new staff must have understanding business needs, for example: (Credit Officer). They have must have experience in dealing with customers, be computer literate, good attitude and be willing to work weekends on a rotational roster. Duties include: Analyse loan applications, prepare and sign documents, write insurance policies. Experience in this field is preferred. Choosing internet for advertisement jobs will bring successful outcome and also save time. Vacancies are usually advertised on this website and occasionally on Seek, Jobsearch or Mycareer. More people are connected these days on the internet and it is a very good source of information and also advertising on internet much quick than any other advertising places because it gives business great advantages, efficient so can find right staff for the right job. There are number of stages involve processing all applications: Education There are no pre-requisite subjects and no any tertiary requirements, however all applicants must have experience in similar field in order to gain employment in this field. Medical requirements Satisfy all medical standards; Applicants must be fit and in good physical shape and also with spectacles or contact lenses must have a visual acuity of at least 6/36 in the worst eye unaided and at least 6/18 in the better eye. Criminal background Any Applicants who have any prior criminal offence history, domestic violence history, bankruptcy and their application will be rejected so do not apply if one of those above applies to applicants, but driving offences will be not taken into consideration Selection Criteria Are used to help select the most capable, effective, suited, experienced, qualified, person for the job. Applicants must demonstrate and prove the ways in which they will be of value for the job and the organisation. These are included; •ability to maintain confidentiality •ability to work as part of a team •ability to work independently •ability to work under pressure •attention to detail •flexible and adaptable approach to work •initiative •keyboard skills •organisational/planning skills •problem-solving ability •supervisory skills •verbal communication/interpersonal skills The Short listing may be conducted by a sub group of the panel and generally will involve the Chair and the Human Resource Professional if included on the panel. It may also involve other members of the selection panel as determined by the Chair. For Example, if 100 people apply for a job and there is only one position to be filled. The employer may make a list of the top five or so people to re-interview. Interview process & telephone interview The same person will interview and make decisions about hiring. But if they’re group interview then main person can make decision during the interview. There may be a series of interviews, and the hiring decision can be made by someone who's never interviewed the candidate before. There can be a phone interview round before any in-person interviews, there can be just a phone interview, and there can be just in-person endless variations. Each company does what fits them best. Some organization have different interview process. Phone interviews give the company a chance to get a feel for new employee’s skill-set, interests, desired compensation etc., and see if there is a match between their needs and employee’s strengths. If there is enough common ground, then the phone interviews are almost always followed-up by an in-person interview. Phone interviews are generally conducted in two steps. The first step is with a recruiter in Human Resources. The second step is a technical interview, usually with one of the people would be working with. Technical phone interviews are conducted for people living outside the geographical region. This is done because the company wants to have some level of confidence in technical abilities before they decided to hire them. Reference check Do employment check how person performed in previous job as well as to verify they’re making sure not lying on job application. I personally think this can vary from company to company, but sometimes the interview process in larger companies are administered through their human resources department or the direct hiring manager. From there the company can decide what type of interview process they need to screen acceptable candidates. This can include a 2nd or 3rd interview or even a testing process, for example, a computer test. When a person is found that fits the position say by management or human resources then they will make an offer. Final Step After review of all applicant’s application, each candidate will receive letter or email regard if they had been offered position or not. Depending on qualifications, skills, experience they have to fit the role. I mean where does these references place in essay.
