What certifications do i need to get a job as an IT guy in an office?

I really need a career, not some retail job like ive had for quite some time. I have an associates degree already, but not one that can transfer to a college to get a bachelors. it is from a trade school. What kind of certifications will get me into the door as an IT guy? Also is that all i need to start applying to places is the certifications? thanks alot. Jim.
