How does a temp/staffing agency work?

If i use a temp/staffing agency to find a job do i have to pay them for their help? What is a reputable company in nevada to use?

Temp agencies are hired by companies to place temporaary help in a job that requires part time to full time employment. You have to pay them an upfront fee (not sure how much) but I've heard in most cases, you'd have to go to 2 or 3 to actually find a job in the line of work you're looking for.
