What is the best way to prepare for a career in drafting?

I have taken AutoCad in college but what other courses should I take? Should I take ProE or Solidworks, and what should I look for in a college or trade school? Thanks for any help

Both ProE and Solidworks are excellent programs to learn. ProE is less common, but the pay will be slightly higher. I'd check local job postings where you want to work to see if there is enough of a demand for it. Otherwise Solidworks is very similar and very common... More

ProE is good PDS if they offer it. Solidworks would be great. Depends on what field you want to get into. i got a degree in arch/civil. but i took some structural classes. a Mechanical Electrical Plumbing class, some surveying classes. i would say look for a college and make sure your credits would transfer if later on...
