Will becoming a residential mortgage processor increase my chances of being hired as a real estate paralegal.?
I am about to approach my senior yr for the degree/ paralegal certificate. The job market is tough, will having some residential closing experience help my chances of getting a commercial real estate position. I also have not worked in the last yr, I am concerned about entering this field with no experience. All of the ad's say they are looking for someone with experience.

Unless your mortgage processing experience was in the closing department, probably not. Processing a loan application has nothing to do with the legal work that is done at the attorneys office. So I don't think it would be a real asset to you. (I had 18 years in mortgage banking)

Well it definitely won't hurt you. I think it would be a good idea to take that job and get some experience. Good luck.
