Its a question only you can answer. There is no miracle time that means everything will be perfect. IVe met parents of 14 and parents of 40 and each has had a unique experience
You will both know when the time is right for you and remember that if you want it enough and are sure its right for you age will not be a factor.
Having a home and a good job may make it easier but love and a real commitment to your child and each other will beat that hands down any day
Of course there are practical considerations to make in that as you age your fertility will dip but at 23 that is probably a long shot worry
Dont be guided by looking for the recipe for the perfect time, look to each other to know what is best
Youll be the ones doing the parenting not any one else
Good wishes to you both

The only people who can answer that question is you and your partner, at the end of the day no-one else knows the ins and outs of your relationship but from what you have said you seem to be in a good place at the moment, you have your own house and have a job.
If you and your partmer haven't been together very long i would suggest that you spend a bit of time having some quality time together because you won't believe how much life changes after having a baby, and there are some things you cant get back after you have kids, if you feel you haven't seen much of the world yet or there are things that you want to do in life go out there and do them
On the other hand if you are both agreed that you would like to start trying for a family now then stop using contraception and let it happen and have fun in the process.
I wish you all the luck for whatever decision you come to xxx

Sounds like a good time to me, but only you can decide when your ready. Make sure both get a complete check-up, look through both family histories for any genetic defects or problem conceiving & get good prenatal care. Good luck!

You're at a good age now - I'm partial since I conceived my first at 23 :-)
You've enjoyed each other and are in a (it seems) stable environment. I wonder why you're not married though? Not that I'm an advocate for marriage, it just creates stability in the home and it's harder to just get up and leave without more consequences. Anyway, if you think you're ready and your partner is - what's the wait?

I think you should start in an age that you are ready to and dont rush take your time its not easy being a mother ask your parents.

It varies. Some people are ready when they are in their early 20's while others need to wait until 30. If you are ready for a big change (i.e. giving up weekends, sleepless nights, etc.) you could start soon. If you would like more time to be a bit "selfish," do it now...that will all be gone when a baby enters the picture.

I say anything over 21, when you are financially stable, and know you can handle a kid, then go for it, but don't rush in to it, enjoy life now, travel, shop, live! lol! there are tons of joys i guess that come with having a baby, but wait a little while, thats just my opinion, i plan to have a baby when i am 27 though, but thats a looonnnnnnnnnnggggggg time away

Just had to answer this one because I'm also 23 with a 27 yr. old husband and we also own our home and are trying to decide when to start trying. So I feel you. If you both want children and feel secure in your jobs then go for it! No time like the present, right? And at 23 you are probably as fertile as you'll ever be. This is biologically a prime time for you to have a baby. Good luck!

Try to have children before you are 30.
You have a higher risk of infertility over 30, although men less.
Women are using older eggs when they are 30 over where as men don't have this problem with s***m etc until they are older.
when you are conceiving make sure NEITHER one of you drinks or smokes for 2 weeks before you try to conceive, obviously trying to continue to not smoke (either of you) and for the women drinking is out of the question too.

A baby completely changes your life. Don't get me wrong, it's great, but it can be very tough. If you have close family nearby then that will really help you.

In MHO, the best time to start having children is AFTER you have been married for a while, and are sure that you and your husband are in it for the long haul. Having a baby is the most stressful, but also the most wonderful thing that can ever happen in your life. I was 27 when I had my first, and even then, still thought sometimes that I should have waited :-)

Age is nothing but a number. I had different plans for my life but it didnt happen the way I had it planned but I wouldnt change it for the world. I am 22 and have two childre. I had my first child when I was 18 and my 2nd when I was 21. I do not have a job.. I am currently a stay at home mother but my husband has a wonderful job. Yes, from experience I would say wait until you both have good jobs and are on your feet but we have a nice home with two new cars and we are still making it. I wouldn't change having my little girls for the world. So, for everyone saying enjoy life first if your ready to have a child then do it... Life is boring without children to me... Good luck in whatever you choose!

Only you can say when the time is right for you, but I think you need to make sure you are financially stable, committed to each other and your sure your ready to put your life on hold for quite a few years, if you both feel ready for the commitment that parenting needs then I'd say go for it, but as I already said only you two can decide other people can advise but it's not them who are going to have that level of responsibility thrust upon them with the arrival of a baby it's you! Good Luck, whatever you decide x

There is never really a good time to start trying but I personally think its best to have them young as there is less chance of anything going wrong etc.

Hmm this is interesting. I always say there is no real time frame to start. You are never really "READY" for a baby. There is always something that comes along or think I wasnt ready for this. Every child is a blessing and God will bless you with your child when he thinks the time is right. Good Luck! It's an experience so enjoy it when it happens!

I had my 1st at 21, I'm 23 and 17 wks pregnant (hooray!). But I know 40yr olds not ready for kids. It's not age, it's situation. If you both feel it's right, then it is. But it's hard bloody work. Good luck x

Never wait until you are financially stable, coz no-one ever has thousands of pounds put aside for having children, so i say when ever you and ur partner are ready for children.

The female body is most prepared an able to cope extremely well with pregnancy from 20 to 25 this is a good age range to have children for your sake and the bodys, later than this is still okay but it can take much longer to concieve and also you have a lower chance of the pregnancy being succsessful

The best time is when you are financially, and emotionally ready. I guess the answer of "what age" may be different for everyone, but for me personally, knowing what I know now. I would suggest waiting until atleast 30, but definitely not before 25. That's just my opinion. Good luck with whatever choice you make. Atleast you are thinking about it and planning and not on here @ 16 asking if you could be pregnant.
