What are some good hobbies I can get?

First off, I'm 19, and basically up until I was 18 all I ever did was sit inside playing video games and doing things on the computer. That really p****d me off when I was almost 19, and so I've been trying to change my hobbies, and myself along with them. First, I needed a job so I could have money to invest in said hobbies, which was a painstaking process, but finally 80 applications later (no joke) I have a job for the summer on the beach. Having been a gaming dork, it's needless to say that I'm extremely pale and thin. So, I was thinking of joining a gym in my spare time. Next, I've been thinking of learning bass, but it's not really a top priority for me right now. Finally, since I'm going to be on the beach while I'm working, I figured it'd be a good idea to get into something active there, like surfing, skim boarding, etc. Question is, which of those is easier to learn? I'm transferring to a new college in Fall, and I want to be a new person basically. Any tips = nice.
