A.Take an asvab test, and pass anormal physical exam with a doctor. b.17 Is the absolute minimum age to join. c. You can join any branch of the Armed Forces. The asvab will determine the jobs you qualify for. d. You must first must pass the ASVAB test. That is given in high school or by military recruiters. Then go to your local MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) and get a physical to see if you medically pass the screening. Minimum must pass high school and have HS diploma or GED. There are four branches in the Military DOD system. Navy, Marines, Air Force, Army. The Coast Guard is under the Department of Justice/DOT program. Their over 300 jobs available for any branch of there service. Check with a military recruiter. Each job has its own medical screening and asvab test score placement. I think other people have satisfactorily answered your first two questions. Here are my 2 cents for C and D: C) As a female, you can work in any branch except combat arms, i.e. infantry, armor, etc. D) I spent three years in military intelligence - insert standard joke here - but I had other (female) friends who were mechanics, cooks, parachute riggers, pilots, weather forecasters, water treatment specialists, linguists, interrogators...the list goes on and on. Do your research before you join, and talk to as many people as you can. Take everything your recruiter says with a grain of salt (but s/he cannot - BY LAW - lie to you), and if you don't like your recruiter, by all means - go to another. A) You should check official sources such as each branch's official recruiting site, there are too many things to list. B)18, or 17 with parental consent C) Army, Navy, Air Force, USMC, USCG. D) Not all specialties are combat related, once again too many to list. If you join the Navy, certain ratings such as HM (Hospital Corpsman) are also assigned to Marine Corps units. 	How do I get a job with Dodgy work history and no experience? Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? 	Why honesty, hard work and dedication have no place at work? Recently I have overlooked for a project at work and I am unable to accept it why? I am hard working, dedicated, maintain a very professional decorum, very cordial with my colleagues and bosses, give respect to one and all. 	What to wear to a job interview VS a career fair? So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy.
