How much would it cost me to replace my AC in my 2004 Mustang GT?
I took it to my mechanic and he was puzzled that my 2004 car with only 23k miles on it would have no coolant left. He thought it might have a hairline crack because my car has been in an accident before. So he ran a test and couldn't find any leaks. He charged it up, filled it with coolant, and chaged me $150.00. It worked great for a month, then crapped out. I live in LA and it gets hot here. I don't have alot of money. What would be the cheapest way to fix this? And if it wont be cheap, then how much am I going to have to save up?

Take it to a real mechanic, the guy who looked at it obviously has no clue what he is doing. he knew it had leaked, yet he chose to recharge it and not find the leak, he knew it would run out again, so he charged you to refill it thinking you would come back for another recharge when it leaked out. Take it to a shop... More

Buy entire assembly from junk yard for less and install it yourself! I hope you learned that a ford is not the most desirable car to own! They want to make junk and sell it new, so a junk yard is your best bet when it comes to obtaining replacement assemblies! Be smarter next time and buy a Japanese or Korean make,and... More

Unfortunately, A/C is big dollars and not an easy fix. The cost may range anywhere between $500 and $2500 depending how you go about having the A/C serviced. I know there is a lot of labor involved in these projects and thats normally what you pay for the most. What is shop rate these days $80, $90 bucks an hour? The A... More

With that low of miles it should be under warranty still unless the accident you said the vehicle was in voided the warranty. You will need to take it to a reputable shop that wills warranty their work. I do not like sending people to dealerships but them or something like a Goodyear may be your best bet... More
