What would be the sociological implications in a fusion-powered world?

I understand that fusion power isn't exactly on a plate right now, but my guess is that it's just around the corner. To give you an idea of how powerful a fusion plant is, any small or medium european country could live off just one of them. It's all the energy we would EVER need plus stacks more. The only drawback? Nonradioactive hydrogen as a byproduct. Does this mean, in the next generation, we'll all be living off electric cars and electric tools? How do you think the world would change if we had unlimited energy we could do anything we wanted with? Needless to say it would probably be the biggest invention of all time..
