I have questions about Lost?

Here are questions, so, please answer them as best as you can.
1.Why does Ben not want anyone to leave the island? he blocked the radio signaling for even his own people.
2.Who is Jacob? Is it an evil Spirit? Is Jacob that black cloud thingy?
3.Are the survivors on the island all dead? Remember the woman said that they found the bodies with the plane in the ocean.
4.Is Jack a good guy or a bad guy? I personally wouldn't trust him.
5.At the end of the season finale, was Jack in the future talking to Kate? He had to have been, because he met Kate on the island. or is there some weird twist to this as well?

Ok, 5 questions, please answer.

1. somehow, by the grace of jacob, ben believes that they are the protectors of the island. to get off the island would mean an influx of scientists, and even a return of the dhrama initiative, as the exact location of the island is not known. they would, according to ben (and locke thinks this too), abuse the island's properties which would only end in catastrophe for the people abusing the island.

2. Jacob is probably not smokey. smokey seems to have free reign over the island except beyond the sonic barrier. the way it seems, the ring of gray ash around jacob's cabin was some kind of voodoo magic supposed to keep something in, or out. so jacob says "help me" because he is a prisoner. my guess is that jacob is alvar hanso, creator of the hanso foundation, who i believe is a metaphysical being, the equivalent of what hindus and new agers would call an ascended master. Jacob is alvar hanso for three reasons. i believe 1) alvar hanso's picture on the lostpedia website is easily the closest candidate in the 'who looks most like jacob' pool. 2) according to lostpedia alvar hanso is about 120 years old, which puts him in the category of a metaphysical being in my book. 3) once again, according to lostpedia, alvar hanso went missing in the timeframe of 2003-2006, which would put him on the island the same time as our losties.

3) the survivors are not dead. the producers of the show have publicly declared that they are not in purgatory. the alternate universe, parallel dimension, and time loop theories are still valid as far as i can see, or the most popular and rational one where remnants of the dharma initiative and the hanso foundation covered up the crash while looking for the island. remember also, that the wreckage was washed out to sea by tides, i doubt it would have drifted that far though. naomi said the plane was found off the coast of bali, which is no where close to the route from sydney to LA, remember they were six hours into the flight when they went off course, this would put them east of australia, not north. many theories point to them being in the devil's triangle, which is the pacific equivalent of the bermuda triangle. as for the bodies, they found them deep underwater, so most of the bodies were mangled horribly, some were fish food, and some were probably never accounted for and just assumed dead. but remember, naomi is not who she says she is so she could have been lying all the time.

4) jack is a good guy. he is a bit naive and way too self-conscious, but his intentions are ultimately good. his lust for juliet i think soiled his judgment, and a bit of his reputation. i hated him for the last 5 episodes, but i was glad to see him stop being such a pussy in the finale. if i were on the island, i wouldn't trust him either, i'd be chillin with locke or sayid.

5) that is all speculation. some think that perhaps jack and kate have been to the island more than once together and it is a flashback. others think this was a flash forward of locke's, kinda like desmond's precognition. the paradox of the flash forward sequence does seem to validate the time loop theory, but i personally haven't made up my mind.

just a note: i know all this because i have a very boring job and i get on the internet and look up lost stuff all the time. just don't want everyone to think im this huge loser with too much time on my hands (not that it makes a diff anyway).

5: Yes, that was the future. I've read up on Lost and as far as the show is concerned, the two creators decided to slate the show for another 3 seasons, and make this season's finale the show that lets people know why only three seasons can be left to go. So, Jack and Kate survive and are rescued from the island, and maintain some sort of contact with each other after the whole island ordeal. That much is for sure.
Answered By: embryonicreject - 5/24/2007
The first two and #4 are just part of the unanswered mystery sector of the show. As for number three, the makers of the show have publicly announced that the castaways are indeed alive and well somewhere in the space-time continuum. My general feeling was that yes, all the flashbacks were of the future; Kate and Jack definately didn't know each other before the plane crash.
Answered By: LaurenKay - 5/24/2007
1.Why does Ben not want anyone to leave the island?
- The island is the only place Ben has ever been happy so he doesn't wanna go. He knew that whomever was coming wasn't there for rescue. Plus, Jacob told him to block the signals.

2.Who is Jacob?
- All we know thus far is that Jacob is a powerful being. He would be the black cloud. He could be a manifestation. He could be an island spirit.

3.Are the survivors on the island all dead?
- No. The writers of the show have been telling us for years, that they're *not* dead. It's not a dream and it's not purgatory.

4.Is Jack a good guy or a bad guy?
- Jack started out as a good guy. And I think he still tries to be. But his views on good and evil are skewed.

5.At the end of the season finale, was Jack in the future talking to Kate?
- Yes, the season finale was a set of future-flashes, not flashbacks.
Answered By: Jenna P - 5/24/2007
1) We don't know for sure, but it seems like HE thinks he's keeping the island safe.
2) No idea, that's a wide open mystery.
3) Nope, that's likely a lie as Naomi lied about pretty much everything else, like the boat (as the convo betw. Charlie and Penny showed us)
4) This series does a lot with showing the good and bad side of everyone...there really aren't any "good" or "bad" guys.
5) Nope, that's definitely the future...the only question there was is it real, or a vision or hallucination? That's gonna bug us for many long months...
Answered By: zkdoom - 5/24/2007
1)Cause Jacob told him to
2)I think Jacob is the sprirt of the island but im not sure, he is not the black cloud.
3)No they're alive, shes a b***h liar
4)That depends on who you are doesn't it, but Jack is doing what he believes is best, so HE thinks that he is doing good
5)Yes it was showing what happens if they leave the island.
Answered By: I_heart_geometry - 5/24/2007
Well I'll let you know my theory
1. I think that Ben wants to stay because of the magical qualities of the Island and also because of the power he wields there. By blocking all radio contact he is trying to protect the Island from the outside world and the people on the boat. I guess he figures they will try to corrupt whatever properties the Island possesses
2.I don't think Jacob is the black cloud I think Rousseau was right when she said it was the Islands defense system. I think that Jacob is somehow from the Black Rock. Richard hasn't aged since Ben was a boy so there must be some type of youth giving properties.
3.They aren't dead the Lost producers have flat out denied that theory, according to them there is a scientific explanation for everything.
4.Jack is a good guy everything he has done is for the protection and rescue of his people. When we see him in the flash forwards he is obviously eaten up with guilt over something that happened on the Island. I think that he either had to leave a lot behind or that a lot of his people were killed.
5.Yes at the end Jack and Kate were in the future. The producers said they were going to be delivering the show in a new way guess this is it. Their brilliance never fails to amaze me and this show just keeps you begging for more.Season four can't come soon enough!!!

Hope this helps you

1.Ben is special and powerful on the island. He blocked the signal to control people from not finding the island.

2. Jacob is the black cloud thingy and manifests as Walt, or Jack's father or other dead people.

3. They are not all dead. The woman was lying and was one of the people that Ben was afraid of who would take over the island and kill its inhabitants. Remember that Penny did not send the woman as she would lead us to believe.

4. Jack is a good guy looking for redemption and has a God-like complex like most surgeons. Jack being a spinal surgeon and Ben needing spinal surgery is not a coincidence. Jack always needs something to fix and the island is perfect even though he does not want to accept it as where he is supposed to be.

5. I think it was a futuristic look into a possible future but I believe that it is one that Locke or Desmond envisions as a possible future. The person on the other end of Naomi's phone called himself "Minkowski". Hermann Minkowski was a mathematician who believed that the theory of relativity could be best understood in a four dimensional space in which time and space are intermingled.

I think the answer is last night...the show title through the looking glass I have no idea what that mean
Answered By: johncondo2001 - 5/24/2007
1. Who knows? maybe he doesn't want the island to be discovered by a whole bunch of tourists?

2. No idea. I'm still not convinced that there IS a Jacob. I think that Ben may have thrown his voice to convince Locke that there was someone there. Maybe he's schizo and Jacob is another of his personalities?

3. No, they are alive. My theory is that perhaps Oceanic Airlines simply made up the whole finding the airplane in the ocean just to settle any potential lawsuits from the families of those on board.

4. Jack, I think, is like everyone else. He has his good qualities as well as his bad ones. I believe his heart is in the right place.

5. Yes, instead of the flash-backs that we have gotten in the past, this was actually a flash-forward into Jack's future.

The one question that I have though...if Naomi wasn't sent by Desmond's girlfriend, what was she doing with their picture?
Answered By: mesquitemachine - 5/24/2007
#5. Jack says to Kate......he's using a "Golden Ticket" the airlines gave him to travel anywhere, so he just keeps flying there and back, there and back, hoping that just one of those planes crash.....then says to her "we have to go back Kate..." and repeats himself, and she walks off........so it seems that was "after" they got off the island.......if you want to watch the episode again, go to ABC.com, they have the most recently aired episodes for viewing.........I am as baffled as you are.......love the show!
Answered By: quick_sand - 5/24/2007
1. He doesnt want them to tell anyone else about the Dharma Initiative or about the island.

2. I have no idea who Jacob is.

3. No they are very alive. Even the producers have said that.

4. He's good. Very good.

5. Yes he was. At least I think so!

I want to find a romance drama, Japanese or otherwise, where the man is in love with the woman. Kind of like how the guy was in 1 litre of tears. Does anyone know of any?!

I really want to watch an Asian Drama (I don't care what language) that is centered around a female who is hiding her true identity from the men in her life who really like her. Like she act klutzy and stupid, but she is really intelligent and sophisticated or she acts poor and is rich or vice versa with the latter. And there is at least two guys in love her. I have seen most the gender Benders that are out, but feel free to leave a title, perhaps I have missed one. I have seen both the To Beautiful You and I watched up to the last two episodes of Extreme Survival. Maybe I will pick it back up.

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

Recently I have overlooked for a project at work and I am unable to accept it why? I am hard working, dedicated, maintain a very professional decorum, very cordial with my colleagues and bosses, give respect to one and all. Still people who take the p***, argue with managers, gossip mongers have been selected for some very responsible positions at work. I seriously can't get my head around it why, why unprofessional people who have no work ethics being selected over me, whereas I have a track record of excellent performance and never shy away from any work my manager ask me to do? I am at my lowest point and not getting hold of my manager to ask the question why not me, why them who can't even bother? I am feeling like a complete loser, giving years to this place, building my performance, trust and this is how I get rewarded. Why my life is so shit, anything I wish for turns to dust?

I've said I am willing to work weekends public holidays everything and I have gotten nothing back I am so desperate for money it's not funny.

So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

I am currently a 1st year irregular college student taking I.T. I transferred schools and my majors never got credited. But it's okay because i am slowly getting the logics in programming in Java. This next semester i am taking a System Analysis and Design(SADSIGN) and i am getting nervous because even though i am pretty good at logics, i am not that good at coding. But since it is a case study, we will be on group, we will be four i think. Project manager, Analyst, Documentation, and the programmer. I am asking what jobs i can get after graduating I.T. because what if i graduated I.T. and still not that good at coding, i am hoping that there will be a jobs that will require less programming. Like Database manager or in Multimedia or in charge of Network. So is there jobs that doesn't require hardcore programming skills?
