Does anyone think the Minute Men are criminals?

I try posting questions that let people give both sides.I've posted similar questions as this concerning La Raza. Now it's the Minute Mens turn.
I also don't thumbs down answers if they are respectful and don't call me or anyone names.I like adult conversations and polite debate. How else will we learn?
Dar I think you should click on my profile and take a look at my questions.ALL of them.
Dar LOL no, no ones using my account.I just read everything I can that concerns me as a citizen. So I try to read up on groups I hear about on here and the news.Sometimes I find out they have been misquoted and such so I like to find information on them.I really haven't read much on the Minute Men so wanted some input.

I have never heard of any criminal acts done by minutemen....But who is to say, they do not....I have read of Border Agents actually killing some illegals....They were brought to justice by the govt. I do know when they came to my border city, our mayor, city counsel and border patrol asked them to leave...I suppose some say I live in a sanctuary city....The city didn't see the need to have such groups here, they felt the border patrol was doing a sufficient job....Another thing I would like to point out is, that these people are coming in illegally, they are afraid to report any crimes against them, so this is a consideration to be taken, the minutemen are aware of this, so it makes me wonder if any crimes were ever committed, they would actually report it....Take it for what its worth...

Any vigilante group should be considered criminals.

Actually, the question you posted about la raza indicated you thought they were being given a bum rap. Is that how you feel about the minutemen, too?

No, unless individuals amongst them commit crimes, clearly they are not criminals.

Is there really a question? What law would they be breaking?
--

And US Veteran, I agree as a policy that vigilante groups are risky, but how do you explain the citizen arrest laws? Clearly it is not against the law to do what they do.
--

LOL - ok, ancient history of a week ago. Is someone else using your account? Because 6 days ago your questions/answers swerved.

--

ok, input. Look at their web page, go to 'volunteer'. You will see that amongst other things you have to send $50 for a background check to make sure you aren't in any hate groups.

Do you think La Raza does that? While funding MEChA?

I used to keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, and for one of their groups to do something horrible, but it just doesn't seem to be happening.

I don't like La Raza or Minute Men. I do think both of them are a bit off when it comes to what they believe.
Answered By: Lili - 6/2/2007
Your question is so confusing i have no idea the only reply i think of to this is a minute man in the bed room. the only crime is the eprson who deals with people like that!
Answered By: wedjb - 6/2/2007
I don't think they have committed any crimes. We allow protests in this country and as far as I see it...they are protesting against people sneaking across our borders illegally.
Answered By: walterdisney - 6/2/2007
Not until they become 15 minute men. One minute isn't long enough.
Answered By: Peter Dragon - 6/2/2007
They are the only ones with the courage to do what we all should be doing.
Answered By: little eccy - 6/2/2007
I don't think so. Their just doing what the federal government refuses to do. If the govt just did their job and enforce the immigration laws, there wouldn't be organizations like the Minute Men.
Answered By: Krasus - 6/2/2007
What crime has the minute men committed? All they do is watch the border and report the invaders to the Border Patrol.

No one can provide even one incident where the Minute men have committed a crime.

Whereas the illegal aliens commit crimes.

Yes they are criminals. They are vigilantes hunting a specific group of people....Mexicans! And I can bet a million $$$ that some of them are members of the KKK.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. If the government FOR the people won't do squat, then the government OF the people need to step up.
The Minute Men did just that!

You will get mant thumbs down and many attacks on this board if you are in any way shape or form in favor of Immigrants..

I think that Minutemen have a right to do what they choose as long as they dont carry guns and shoot Mexicans!

I call them "American heroes" just like the original minutemen throwback to The American Revolutionary War

The Minute Men are upholding the law. They are doing the work our government won't do.
Answered By: sassyk - 6/2/2007
Of course they are not criminals. They are simply doing the job that Govt. will not.California spent 9 Billion dollars last year alone on services for illegal aliens. Dont you think that money would be better spent on american citizens?

common sense

The Minute men are my Heroes and I would live to join their group to enforce American Laws. So you are a member of the mInute men please post how we can get on board. The Minute Men donot put their hands on the illegals they spot them then they call the border patrols and the border patrols arrest the illegals. So they have not broken the law. As a matter of fact the government broker the law. We have a immigration laws right now but the government will not enforce them. George Bush you need to walk your stupid self out of office you have done nothing but hurt the American economy.
Answered By: lscalder - 6/2/2007
Ur question seems vague.

However, the minute men r common every day folk who, (to the best of my knowledge) have not committed any crimes. (define crimes?) If reporting drug smugglers, potential terrorists, and illegal aliens is a crime - then I guess you'd have to call me a criminal as well. Is it also a 'crime' to report people who break into ur house?

The minute men are doing what our elected officials so cowardly do not - that is - help protect America from an invasion to the south.

The minute do not 'just arrest Mexicans' - they report ALL illegal aliens. If most of the illegal aliens happen to be Mexican -it's not the minute men's problem.

btw, what did the racist orgainization call 'La Raza' have to say?

Answered By: YANKEE - 6/2/2007
No. Now, why would they be criminals? Please, try reading The Constitution. Pay particular attention to the first 10 amendments. They're called The Bill of Rights.

La Raza (The Race), although having more in common with the Ku Klux Klan (For the race everything, for others, nothing.), is also not an illegal organization and the members are not criminals. It's perfectly legal to be a racist in this country. Again, check The Bill of Rights if you don't believe me.

At my company we advertised for some jobs and got hundreds of workers that applied for the jobs but instead of hiring a regular American they hired someone that was brought over on a special VISA form overseas. I heard there was many qualified applicants but they wanted to pay less so they claimed there was no qualified Americans so they could get a low paid foreigner. I think in today's economy there should be a stop of all immigration. Jobs should be for Americans in today's tough economy! Agree?

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

I've said I am willing to work weekends public holidays everything and I have gotten nothing back I am so desperate for money it's not funny.

So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

Our commitment to training and development encourages our people to grow their futures with us. If successful in joining our team, how will you become an expert at what you do? and At Debenhams, our people make all the difference to our customers. If you were a Stock Movement Adviser with us, how would our customers know that you are focused on their individual shopping experience? Any help in answering these questions would be greatly appreciated, many thanks!

I am in the process of planning my own wedding and I am having a fantastic time doing so. I have always enjoyed planning things: group vacations for my friends and I, road trips, etc... I could be described as a slight control freak and I am a perfectionist. I know I would exceed, and enjoy my career, if I were to make this a possibility. How do I do it? How do I get my name out there? How much do event planners charge for their services? I have a lot of questions, and hope that people who are self employed would be able to give me some pointers on getting my business up and running. Thank You in advance for your time and help.
