How much can I make working in a restaurant in San Francisco?

How much can people make working various jobs like waiter, host, bartender, etc in high end restaurants in San Francisco? What's the best way to get started if you have no experience and want to work in the nicest place possible?

Depends on how high end the restaurant. In a top one, over $1,000 a week. ~

You do have to start small and work your way up. Either smaller places to get experience, or start as dishwasher at the nice place you're looking at. An acquaintance of mine worked for Gary Danko. She was pulling in $500-$600 in tips a night as a waitress.

As a wait you can make anywhere from$100-1,000 depending on business, size of party and your skills. I know you'll have to prove yourself and must possess insane wine knowledge .
