How do I clean my cat's water bowl and litter box?

This is usually my maid's job but shes in the Phillipines getting married so right now no one has bathed her, changed her litter box, or cleaned her bowl for nearly over a week. I really need help. Im 12 and everyone in my family but me and my main take care of the cat and I love her and my mom will get rid of her (see my other question) and I dont want her to get sick or have her all dirty and hae her eat out of a dirty bowl so I'd really appreciate if some people could tell me how to clean her litter box and food bowls and give her showers? Other tips and advice would be nice ;) (We've had for nearly over 2 years)

Okay, not too worry. To clean the dishes, you just use soap and water just as you would your own dishes. Then just make sure she has water throughout the day. I usually clean them in the morning before i give them breakfast. To clean the cat, if you want to, I just fill up the bathtub about to their chest and wash them... More

kinda od..but anyway scoop it out atleast once a day..if you are doing an all overclean do it in the tub but try not to use too much chemical stuff as it may harm the kitty...and you dont need to bath her they do that themselves. Also ALL ANIMALS NEED FRESH WATER daily! so make sure she is getting a new bowl everyday..... More

As far as her bowls, good old soap and hot water work. If you are worried about germs, dip them in water with a little bleach and let them dry. As far as the cat box, dump it out, scrub it with hot water and soap, and then fill it with water and dump a cup or so of bleach in it and let it soak for about 10 minutes... More

First thing is DO NOT use soap in any cat food or water dishes. It leaves a film which they do not like. Just rinse them in warm water and wipe them out real good. Rinse again and dry... More
