Should I apply for a job with a company that my current company works with?

I am currently searching for a job and I know executives from majority of the companies in my industry around my area. Some of the partners of my current companies are hiring position that fits me really well; however, the hiring manager are people who I dealt with in the current business relationship. Would it be a good idea if I go ahead a apply for jobs with them? Thanks.
