Should Gerald Ford have been impeached for pardoning Nixon?

Ford got the job as vice-president in exchange for agreeing to pardon nixon. That is neocon corruption at it's sleaziest!

No. There is an unwritten rule that Republicans are not to be held accountable for their misdeeds. Therefore, no Republican shall ever pay an equal price for any harm they have done via the crime(s) they commit.

Unfortunately you can't impeach someone after he's out of office, much less after he's dead. What we should do is make sure Bush, Cheney, and Administration never get pardoned. That will reverse the Ford precedent.

No, little boy, he became president, because he was the vice-president. That is the way the chain of command works. The President can pardon anyone he wants, unless they have committed treason.

While I generally agree with you, I think that Nixon should have been thoroughly investigated DESPITE the pardon. If evidence then supported your contention, then certainly Ford should have also been investigated and possibly impeached. Let's focus on impeaching Bush and Cheney before they do any more damage.

Wrong. Nixon was only guilty for attempting to cover up something that he didn't ask for. As a President and if he were alive today, I'd vote for him again. :) I'm ready for my numerous thumbs down, now.

No, we need episodes like that to rally the democrats out of their apathy and go vote. There are many more registered democrats than republicans yet republicans have held the Presidency way longer than democrats. Democrats generally only win presidential elections after we have had such a terrible republican president... More

No. Ford became Vice President before the pardon was even on the table. You need to review your history. I was a Reagan supporter in '76 because I did not think Ford could win. But every day you keep more of your money because Ford vetoed over 50 tax and spend bills proposed by the Dems. He still is saving US... More

You really need to know what you are talking about before putting forth something like this. Ford got his job because Spiro Agnew had to resign as Vice President. He is the only Vice President and President appointed to the office... More
