Do the off season moves by the Rangers and Flyers make the Atlantic Division the toughest in hockey?

I am not necessarily saying the best or most talented nor am I saying that the Stanley Cup will land back here in the east, but will it be the toughest division to win? You have the Penguins who are the young up and comers. They have a solid young core along with a few very capable veterans. The Rangers were a playoff team who added two more stars to their lineup. Lou Lamourello and the Devils have always been able to plug in players as they were needed and be successful. The Flyers appear to have completed their face-lift adding a considerable amount of talent to another relatively young squad. Is the Atlantic Divison going to be the toughest in the league? If so, why? If not, which will be tougher and why?

Top to bottom, there is no question the Atlantic will be the toughest division to play in. The unbalanced schedule will make it even tougher for the 5 teams.

If I had to guess I'd say that the Rangers and Pens will be battling for the top spot while the Devils and Flyers will be challenging for 3rd place. Unfortunately for Islander fans, the loss of Smyth AND Blake will make for a long season.

Additionally, while Kozlov and Yashin took a lot of heat from everyone, they did contribute on some level (at least in the regular season). Unless the Isles pull off some moves they'll very likely be looking a lot like the '06-07 Flyers.

The Northwest division would be the next toughest. However, Vancouver, specifically Luongo, will be tested to achieve similar heights as this past year and the depleted Oilers are a huge question mark to rebound from a forgettable year. Nonetheles, those teams battled hard all season and Colorado has done a nice job of fortifying itself after coming up short in the playoff chase.

Conversely, the Central division has to be the biggest cake walk for the Wings at this point. The Preds are a lame duck team selling off its pieces and the Jackets are a perennial non-factor. The Blues are trying to step up and the Hawks might stop the freefall with their youth movement, but Detroit is going to pull some serious points out of that division.

Well basically I think it does make it a more competitive division but there were also losers in the UFA game, namely the Isles and the Devils so what we may see is a shift of the balance of power with the Rangers, Pens and Flyers duking it out for the top spot while the other two flounder at the bubble line.

Yes, it will be the toughest. You made some key points. The Rangers and Penguins both have some good, young players, though the Pens have a few more. But the Rangers mix of young guns and veterans seems to be the key. Some of their players fit both categories, such as the recently-acquired Drury (who WILL wear 23, according to the Rangers' official roster now), and Gomez. The Devils do always seem to plug in players and be successful. Gomez and Rafalski were great examples of that. They may be gone now, but the Devils can just as easily plug in someone new and thrive. Look at Oduya and Parise. The Flyers' additions of Briere, Lupul, and Smith will get them back in the hunt, but I think they'll finish 4th in the division, which is too strong for them to get back to the top of yet. The Islanders will be a distant 5th in the division, after losing Yashin, Blake, Zednik, Smyth, Kozlov, and Poti. The Islanders may be the only sub-.500 team in the division.

Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, how is the Pacific Division not getting attention for this one? The Ducks, Sharks, and Stars were all fantastic teams last year, putting up 110pts, 107pts, and 107pts respectively, and none of those three look to be any worse for this coming season. The Pacific Division wasn't won until the last game of the season (Sharks losing to Vancouver and Anaheim beating Columbus decided who won the division in game 82 for each team). And this next year Los Angeles will be much better also (having made a lot of solid free agent signings to at least become respectable). I'm not saying that it's the most difficult division, but I definitely believe it's tougher than the Northwest (since our third place team had a better record than the Northwest Champ last season).

The New York Rangers, I think had the best free agent signings. To get two great goal scorers and to go along with what they already have, I like The New York Rangers and the Anaheim Ducks in the Stanley Cup..... Sound good doesn't it? Besides hockey needs a strong market team in the Finals...

I think it will be the toughest, or at least one of the toughest. If u look at it, its the division that greatly impacted the free agency pool

It's starting to look that way.

As far as teams go, I think the Penguins are best prepared for the next season because their nucleus is in place and the players they added are only going to add to the depth that they already have. For that, I think they will win the division.

The Rangers are slightly behind Pittsburgh in overall talent. They have a decent team and the difference is that they have added players that will establish depth to the team rather than just add to it. I can see the Blueshirts finishing anywhere between 2nd and 3rd place.

The Flyers have restructured their team. They aren't going to open the season on a tear. Time is their greatest opponent as they work to get used to all the new faces. I don't think they will finish any lower than 4th but can put up a good fight with the Rangers.

The Devils are the great unknown. Talent-wise they took a hit. But I learned to never count them down and out. Big Lou will be the greatest determining factor this season. They can be a strong 3rd place team but I'm thinking 4th if the holes that were left prove to be insurmountable.

I can't see the Islanders finishing higher than 5th place. They were essentially gutted due to bone-headed management. Sorry Isles fans, this year looks to be a tough one.

The great thing is that when the playoffs are about to start, we'll see if I know anything.

I am a team captain and I need to buy new home uniforms for my high school hockey team. Our colors are blue and gold, so I was thinking of getting the new Buffalo Sabres uniforms blank, and then using a local printing company to print logos and numbers on them. I don't know if this would be cheapest and best though. What do you think I should do?

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

Recently I have overlooked for a project at work and I am unable to accept it why? I am hard working, dedicated, maintain a very professional decorum, very cordial with my colleagues and bosses, give respect to one and all. Still people who take the p***, argue with managers, gossip mongers have been selected for some very responsible positions at work. I seriously can't get my head around it why, why unprofessional people who have no work ethics being selected over me, whereas I have a track record of excellent performance and never shy away from any work my manager ask me to do? I am at my lowest point and not getting hold of my manager to ask the question why not me, why them who can't even bother? I am feeling like a complete loser, giving years to this place, building my performance, trust and this is how I get rewarded. Why my life is so shit, anything I wish for turns to dust?

So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

I am in the process of planning my own wedding and I am having a fantastic time doing so. I have always enjoyed planning things: group vacations for my friends and I, road trips, etc... I could be described as a slight control freak and I am a perfectionist. I know I would exceed, and enjoy my career, if I were to make this a possibility. How do I do it? How do I get my name out there? How much do event planners charge for their services? I have a lot of questions, and hope that people who are self employed would be able to give me some pointers on getting my business up and running. Thank You in advance for your time and help.
