What steps would be taken to become a member of the swat team?

Im 18 and im interested in a career in law enforcement, perhaps the swat team. what would i need to do to land a job on the swat team?

You're going to have to do your time on patrol. Most departments only have part time teams anyway. So the team members work in other divisions inside the department. Put in your time in the streets. I'm pretty sure the dept has a minimum anyways. While on patrol you need to write stellar reports. my husband was on the department for 2 years before he could apply to be on the ERT team. He had to write a letter of interest to the sheriff and go through the proper command and ect. to be considered to be on it. He loves it. you will have to be a very experienced oficer. you then will have to apply for that position. testing will not only be by the books but will also have some hard physical tests as well

You would first have to go to academy to become and officer and then work your way up to swat. you just cant join swat right off the bat. usually you have to have so many years of service with satisfactory ratings in attendance, conduct, etc. and most times you have to try out. swat is an elite group. you have to earn...
