What qualifies an inexperienced/uneducated person to be able to do a job in your opinion?
We all know people who have no college and haven't finished high school managing those who have and many doing so quite effectively and recognized in their fields! Some people just have a disposition to learning and applying new things quicker than others. Suppose you are hiring and you have candidates that have degrees and or capabilities right off the bat and then you have candidates that don't. What equalizes the non experienced candidates to the experienced candidates to the extent that you might even hire an inexperienced candidate before the experienced candidate because of those traits?

It depends on the position, of course. Does it require the knowledge that a 4+ year course of study should provide? Or is wisdom more useful than knowledge? For example, for my work team, which is a system support team, I'm far more interested in someone who can listen to, comprehend, and execute customer queries... More
