Married Couple thinking of moving to Houston, TX from Nashville, TN right out of college? What do you think?

Our questions??? Are there any good jobs for psychology or childcare graduates, if so where if you know? Are there any good schools for continuing our education? What areas should we live in? What is there to do there for leisure? We are interested in Joel Osteen's church, Lake wood church? Does anybody attend Lakewood? What are some names of big city events that go on in Houston, i.e. in Nashville, there is an African Festival and we have some random events? What population of people are there mostly there? How is the crime rate? What African American events are there? Is it a good place to raise a family & live for good? Help us to please answer our questions?

Houston is a cesspool. The crime is horrible & so is the traffic. If you like sweating your butt off, people who can't drive or speak English by all means check it out. I lived here almost 32 years & I'm ready to move up to mountains in Colorado. I'd look into Denver, Albequrque, or if you're into African American... More

For Professionals, like yourselves, I would suggest either Rosenburg, Sugarland, or Spring, Texas....they are all a part of Houston. In the medical field that you and your spouse are in, there should be no problem finding employment and furthering your education. Texas Children Hospital, surely could use someone with... More

Although I think Austin is a better city than Houston. Houston ranks as one of the best cities for African Americans. The North and West sides of Houston are usually the best. Crime is not the WORST in America but knowing where not to go and taking precautions will help because there is no need to be paranoid.
