Why must you be 21 to be a truck driver or apply for a truck driving job?

because they want to you have some driving experience, driving a truck is a lot harder than driving a car, they want to also see how your driving record is,for the past 3 years, and also for their insurance purposes they say all drivers has to be over 21 years of age,its just the way it is,good luck on it.

I manage a moving company. The reason is because the companies insurance rates go up when someone under 21 is driving. Not to mention you're holding big payloads in the truck. Don't worry about it, if you live in the NEW YORK City area call me up. I'll accept your application. Look up Celebrity Moving my name is Jehny... More

Well...you don't always have to be 21. I'm quite sure this isn't what you're looking for, but there's a show on the History Channel called "Ice Road Truckers"...one of the truckers there has been driving since he was 16! The only downside to the job is there's a really good possibility you can fall through the ice... More
